On Friday August 31st we decided to go for one more swim before the end of summer. We went to a pool in Hickory called Kool Park. It is an older pool located down a dirt road. As we were driving up to the entrance I didn't know exactly what to expect...but we ended up having a blast! Abbie and I went with my sisters-in-laws Teresa and Leisa and their children Cayden and Taylor. "Uncle Todd" also went. He is a very good friend/family member of the Job family. The kids and adults had a great time at the water slide. I think we must of slid down it at least a hundred times! My body ached the next day. We will definitely have to go again next year!!!

On Thursday, August the 16th we went to the Old Soldiers reunion parade in downtown Newton. This was our 2nd year attending. We love it! (At least Abbie and I do, Michael goes for Abbie-he's not a big fan of parades or carnivals). The heat was UNBEARABLE! If I remember correctly, it was 103-too hot for the area bands to march and play-actually they weren't in it at all.

The week started on Sunday the 12th with a car crusin'. Any car 1972 and older was able to participate. Every night had an event (beach music night, gospel night, baby parade and dog pageant night). We normally just go for the crusin', parade and mini carnival and to EAT! Can't wait for next year!
